Event 1 Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Golden, British Columbia

Ride 1: June 12th, 2020

TheBluMooose Ascent: A 10KM ride ascending the iconic ski hill at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (KHMR).  From the base of the mountain, ride "It's A 10" gravel route to the summit where riders will have breathtaking panoramic views of the Rocky Mountain and Purcell Mountain ranges. This ride is totally unique.  KHMR has granted TheBluMooose special permission to hold the only base to submit uphill ride on this mountain.  

 

Ride 2: June 13th, 2020

TheBluMoose Gravel: A gravel ride departing from the KHMR Plaza and travelling along the West Bench of the Columbia Valley. Participants can choose either the Family Friendly 30km Route, the 100km Parson Route or the 200km Brisco Route and new for 2020, the 300km Radium Route. All routes will start and finish at the KHMR Plaza. Ride the stunning routes through the wilderness of southern British Columbia which provide spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains, the Purcell Mountains and the Columbia Valley Wetlands.  Be part of this epic journey.   Registration for this event will be limited to 200 riders.

 

The $200 registration fee allows entry to BOTH TheBluMoose Ascent AND TheBluMoose Gravel. Ride both days, ride one day, riders choice.  

 

 

Event 2 Couchiching Beach Park, Orillia, Ontario

Ride: September 7th, 2019

TheBluMoose Alvar: Starting in Couchiching Beach Park, Orillia, riders can choose the 80km or the 140km route.  Both routes travel east along the beautiful, quiet tarmac and dirt roads of this area.  A substantial section of the 140km ride will encompass the extraordinary Carden Alvar Provincial Park. The Carden Alvar is a rare and unique ecosystem, its grassland, wetlands and woodlands hosting over 230 bird species, 140 butterfly/dragonfly species and 450 plants. The Carden Alvar gained Provincial Park status in 2014 to protect and preserve its spectacular environment.  Click on the Gallery Tab to see this stunning landscape.

The $200 Ride Registration Fee allows entry to the 80km or 140km distances for an individual rider or a family group of riders.
