A 10KM ride ascending the iconic ski hill at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (KHMR). From the base of the mountain, ride "It's A 10" gravel route to the summit where riders will have breathtaking panoramic views of the Rocky Mountain and Purcell Mountain ranges. This ride is totally unique. KHMR has granted TheBluMooose special permission to hold the only base to summit uphill ride on this mountain. Sign In: 3:00pm, Depart 4:00pm KHMR Plaza
Finish: KHMR Summit. Riders will descend the mountain by Gondola returning to KHMR Plaza.
Aid Station: TheBluMoose Food & Drink Station will be made available at the summit providing fruit, snacks, soft drinks and water.
TheBluMoose Gravel, June 13th, 2020
A gravel ride departing from the KHMR Plaza and travelling along the West Bench of the Columbia Valley. Participants can choose the 100km Parson Route, the 200km Brisco Route and new for 2020, the 300km Radium Route. All routes will start and finish at the KHMR Plaza and finish at Winston Bar & Bistro located at the base of KHMR. Ride the stunning routes through the wilderness of southern British Columbia which provide spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains, the Purcell Mountains and the Columbia Valley Wetlands. Sign In: 3:00pm - 6:00pm, June 12th or 5:00am, June 13th. Depart: 6:00am, June 13th, KHMR Plaza, all 3 distances.
Finish: Winston Bar & Bistro, KMHR Base.
Aid Stations: TheBluMoose Food & Drink Stations will be available to all riders for all distances every 50km. A wide variety of sandwiches, fruits, snacks, soft drinks and water will be provided.
The $200 registration fee allows entry to BOTH TheBluMoose Ascent AND TheBluMoose Gravel. Ride both days, ride one day, riders choice.

Starting and finishing in Couchiching Beach Park, Orillia, riders can choose from the 85km or the 140km routes, which travel along the beautiful, quiet, tarmac and dirt roads of this area. Both rides will encompass the extraordinary Carden Alvar Provincial Park. The Carden Alvar is a rare and unique ecosystem, its grassland, wetlands and woodlands hosting over 230 bird species, 140 butterfly/dragonfly species and 450 plants. The Carden Alvar gained Provincial Park status in 2014 to protect and preserve its spectacular environment. Click on the Gallery Tab to view photographs from the 2019 event.
Sign In: 8:00am, Depart 9:00am (both distances) Couchiching Beach Park Pavilion (look for the blue balloons).
Finish: Couchiching Beach Park Pavilion.
Aid Stations: TheBluMoose Food & Drink Station will be set up at the 45km & 90km mark. A wide variety of sandwiches, fruits, snacks, soft drinks and water will be provided.
In addition to the official TheBluMoose Food & Drink Station there are two locations where riders can independently purchase food & drinks. Peggy's Produce Food Truck is located at the 23km and 114km, offering burgers, hot dogs, fries as well as ice cream and drinks. The Lake Dalrymple Resort General Store is located at the 42km and 95km mark. The owner Chris, sells a wide variety of snacks, drinks and ice cream.
Toilet & Change Facilities: Public bathrooms & change facilities are located at the start and finish of the ride at Couchiching Beach Park. A second public bathroom is located at the Carden Recreation Centre at the 42km & 95km mark.
The $200 Ride Registration Fee allows entry to the 85km or 140km distances for an individual rider or a family group of riders.
